limited background i'm afraid

I have an HP laptop that I got when I came to college. It's pretty old but I love it because I'm used to it. I used to love Word 2003 and was so mad when 2007 came out...but now I love 2007 and am grateful for it.
I use Google for every question I have and check my Gmail account daily. At least I know how to do that. I am able to create a pretty good PowerPoint but I still feel insecure in Excel.
